Internship Training and Viva Voce Examination Procedure for
Business Administration Programmes

Internship is the final requirement for MBA, MBA-B&F, and MBA-IT programmes. It assents to students applying knowledge and skills acquired in Business Administration programs to practical, provides on-the-job situations that enhance students learning and preparation for careers.

Internship Procedure for student

The following procedure will be adopted in this activity:
  1. After qualifying 15 courses for MBA and MBA-B&F or 20 courses for MBA-IT programme, the student would select the organisation for internship and get its approval from the Department of Business Administration through mail or e-mail.

  1. The organisation selected for internship should satisfy the following conditions:

  1. The organisation selected should be well established and preferably have 15 employees at the strength of its specific department/section to be studied by the students. If a student selects his own organisation then it must fulfil the earlier conditions.
  2. The internship activity would be undertaken individually for a period of 6-8 weeks.

Internship Report

      1.            On completion of the internship period, the student shall prepare the internship report according to the specialization and training obtained, on the pattern and format provided by the department.
      2.            Internship completion certificate issued by the organisation or head of the concerned department/ section should be appended with the internship report.
      3.            The student will submit 1st draft of internship report to the department of Business Administration. The department may suggest changes/amendments in the report for improvement and return the same to the student for its 2nd draft. On approval of the report, student will be asked to prepare five hard bound copies of the report.
      4.            Verbatim copy/reproduction of any report or document shall not be accepted in any case. In such cases the student will have to repeat the whole activity in some other organisation assigned by the department. Copying or duplication of any other’s report will not be accepted. In such cases, the student will be strictly penalized as per AIOU rules.

Viva-voce

1.            After approval of the internship report, the student will be eligible to appear in the viva-voce, provided he/she has qualified all the required courses of his/her MBA programme.
2.            Viva-voce is a compulsory component with no weightage in the overall assessment. However, the student has to show satisfactory performance in the viva-voce to become eligible for the degree.
3.            The student will be given maximum three chances to qualify viva-voce. The chance is not counted, if a student does not appear in the viva-voce. If a student is unable to qualify in the three chances, would not be awarded MBA degree. However, a transcript would be issued for the completed courses.
4.            Viva-voce will be based on the entire courses, area of specialization, the internship report and its relevancy to the current economic/business environment.
