There is an arrangement of a generator but its capacity is lower than the actual demand. Write an internal proposal to cope with this problem so that the office work could be done smoothly. There are many types of wrong sentence construction but discuss only four of them with examples showing the wrongly constructed sentences and then their correct forms.                                                                                                (20)

Q.2    Read chapter 7 and describe how Visual aids are important to provide a graphic look to the information in technical writing. How visual aids are created and discussed? Explain in detail.          (20)

Q.3    In spoken form of a language, pauses tone, intonation, rise and fall of a tone and stress not only make the communication impressive but also make it intelligible for the listeners. In written form, this is done with punctuations. Write about four punctuations and their uses showing how their proper use bring clarity in message. You may consult Appendix- A to address this question.                                                                              (20)

Q.4    Planning your document is one of the essentials of technical writing process. What are the various steps involved in planning stage? Discuss in detail. Chapter 3 of the book will give you an insight about the writing process.     (20)

Litter is garbage or waste like left over food, paper, and cans on the ground or in the street. Where many people live together, litter is a problem. People don’t always put their garbage in the garbage can, because they find it is easier to drop a paper than to find a garbage can for it. But litter is ugly, it makes the city look dirty, and it spoils the view,. In most places litter is against the law. The law punishes people who throw garbage on the streets. They usually pay a fine, and occasionally go to jail.

The Strange Little Fire

Mr. Polido lived in Mexico. He was a farmer. Every day he worked in his fields. As he worked, he often felt the warm ground under his feet.
One day Polido saw smoke coming out of the ground. “What a strange little fire,” he thought. “I’ll cover it with some soil.”  As the days went by, the farmer found more and more strange little fires. One afternoon when he was working, he head a loud ruble. The ground moved and great clouds of smoke shot into they sky.
“An earthquake! I will go and get my family,” said Polido as he ran to find his wife. They hurried to the town.  All the people were worried. From the town they saw a great tower of smoke and rock and fire. It came from the cracks in the ground on Polido farm. They felt the ground move again and again. When night came, they heard great explosion. Giant rocks shot into the air, then fell around the hole in the ground.
Day after day, there were many explosions. People came from everywhere to watch. A small hill began to grow. In a week it was a small mountain. Soon the small mountain became a giant mountain. Great waves of lava pushed out of the cracks and across the fields. All the plants and animals died. For kilometers around ther was nothing alive.
“The mountain will get bigger and bigger,” Polido told his family. “We cannot live here now. We’ll move to another town.
The volcano of Paricutin roared, smoked, and exploded for nine years, until 1952. Today there is a beautiful sleeping mountain where Polido planted his corn.
